Stock Market Outlook to end of 2014
More than Money with Gene Dickison Answers:
“What does your crystal ball say about the stock market through the end of 2014?”
It depends . . .
. . . do you also invest using tea leaves, Tarot Cards, and ‘fortune’ tellers?
As Yogi Berra might have said, “Predicting is really hard – especially about the future!” Any advisor who claims to have ‘vision’ of what the market will do for even the next couple of hours let alone the next five months is likely working an angle that will separate some/all of your hard earned money from your wallet – and into his.
We’ve stacked the cards against any value in ‘predicting the markets’ and – as you already know – a sound investment strategy is one that fits you whatever the market might do in the short run.
There are still a few reasons to be cautiously optimistic:
People are spending money – try to get a table at almost any eatery on a Friday (or most Wednesday) nights
People are growing their net worths – assets are up and debts are down
People are seeing/getting more jobs – despite the absolute fiction of government reported numbers, there are more jobs and earned wages are rising
Of course, these factors might foreshadow a rising American stock market.
Of course, they might not.
Get yourself a solid investment strategy and work it.
