“My wife and I have accumulated a substantial retirement fund. By our calculations, our monthly pension and SS payments will be more than enough to cover our expenses when I retire in 7 years. We went through a lot of emotional pain when the stock market crashed in 2008. We felt a great deal of that same pain when the stock market dropped again. We won’t need income from the money but we don’t want to see it cut in half again when we’re this close to retiring. Should we get out before it turns down again?”
