In my humble opinion, maturity is highly over-rated.
As I enter the second half of my life (that observation is going to send my poor wife into a deep depression) I am constantly amused by how many people misunderstand me and my approach to life.
They assume that a man at my station in life must have quite a serious approach to his work, his family, his faith, and his future.
However… I approach nearly every part of my life with the philosophy that a very wise man shared with me as I entered ‘adulthood’:
“Growing older is mandatory
‘growing up’ is completely optional.”
As those closest to me will attest, I place no great value on the things that many people associate with growing older. I connect on a most direct level with kids and animals. I still love playing games of all kinds from golf to pickle ball. I have no intention of retiring from More than Money until my God decides its time. I’m simply having too much fun serving you and our wonderful clients and our amazing team. In fact, our company culture is based on a theme quite aligned with my personal philosophy:
“At More than Money (and MtM Financial)
we take our work very seriously.
We don’t, however, take ourselves very seriously at all.”
During a typical day, our team laughs – a lot. We serve our clients at the very highest level and we laugh a lot.
I pray that all of you stay young in spirit, laugh a lot every day, spend fun time with as many children as you can bring into your life, take delight in finding ways to serve, and thank God with a heart filled with gratitude and joy.
Pretty good advice.
Please allow us to serve you and those you love.
Thank you,
Gene
P.S. Let me know what ways you’ve found to help you stay young!
